Can this possibly be good news?

October 8, 2014 //  by Sebastian O'Kelly

NeilMaloneyBarrister Justin Bates has been on the receiving end of the most indigestible flattery from managing agent and IRPM worthy Neil Maloney.

On Twitter, the chartered surveyor praises Bates for his handiwork in right to manage applications – which habitually involves coming up with every legal impediment to thwart them.

“Such a safe pair of hands. Thanks Buddy”, toadies Maloney.

A rather different opinion of Justin’s labours is held by Sir Peter Bottomley, who has named the junior barrister in the Commons and likened one of his cases – Oakland Court – to “legal torture”.

Curiously, both Bates and Sir Peter are scheduled to speak tomorrow at the Chartered Institute of Housing meeting in Gatwick.

That is, if “Buddy” turns up.

Last year, he pulled out at the last minute of the LEASE annual conference, which Sir Peter was addressing.

Neil Maloney, a panel member of the property tribunal according to ARMA’s directory,  attended the LKP Westminster briefing on right to manage last March, representing the IRPM.

In a democracy, everyone, even Neil Maloney, can express their opinion of Justin Bates (just like we can)
Also in the spirit of democracy, we can choose if we so wish not to use the services of My Home Surveyor (who at the time of the last published accounts had a net worth of £-1,689.)

This case came up where Mr Maloney and Bates worked together

Mr Maloney acting as expert witness for Mr Bates.

Readers can judge the merits of the arguments and expert testimony given by Mr Maloney
